We have four depots in Newport, Shrewsbury, Sudbury and Welshpool.
If you like the idea of, working within a team, working hard to meet customer’s needs, and, working with computer systems. Then this is an exciting opportunity for you. The Apprentice Parts Technician co-ordinates parts sales to ensure that customers are always able to have the parts they require when they need them. This involves using the company’s sophisticated computer system to log stock movements and produce orders. Liaising with colleagues, developing skills to improve parts sales performance, and dealing with enquiries from both trade and retail customers.
No formal qualifications are required but you must be literate and numerate. Modern logistic support processes and systems are highly complex, and you must have a desire to become a first-rate Parts Advisor. You should also be prepared to learn Maths and English with a specific emphasis on the industry.
Duties will include;
- Using the company’s sophisticated computer system to log stock movements and produce orders
- Liaising with colleagues and customers.
- Developing skills to improve parts sales performance and dealing with enquiries from both trade and retail customers.
Your advanced apprenticeship will last approximately 2 years
Training to be provided
Like all apprenticeships, your programme will combine paid employment with training, leading to a nationally recognised and valued qualification. You will work at rea Valley Tractors Ltd. but also spend time at the John Deere Apprentice Training Centre and at John Deere’s Head Office, both near Nottingham.
You are supported by a designated Assessor and by your employer, gaining valuable workplace skills by undertaking practical tasks and experiencing real-life challenges. You will be provided with an individually tailored learning plan, with progress monitored by your Assessor who will make regular visits for on the job guidance
All travel, and, accommodation costs are covered by the employer, whilst attending the training centre.
You should be;

- Willing to study hard
Ideally you will have, or be predicted, good GCSE grades in English, Maths and Science (or equivalent qualifications) although these are not essential. You must however be literate and numerate.
