Motor Vehicle Service & Maintenance Technician, Land-Based Service Engineering Technician, Autocare Technician, Customer Service Advisor, or Parts Retailer – upon successful completion of your apprenticeship you will be a very well qualified professional.

Motor Vehicle Service & Maintenance Technician

Our Motor Vehicle Service & Maintenance Technician apprenticeship follows the level 3 Apprenticeship Standard; Motor Vehicle Service & Maintenance Technician Light Vehicle (ST0033)

The program duration is approximately 36 to 42 months and includes 22 to 24 weeks of residential block release training spread over 3 years.  Training is conducted at one of our purpose-built training facilities as detailed below:

  • Atcham, Nr. Shrewsbury
  • Burnaston, Derbyshire (Toyota & Lexus only)
  • Cirencester, Gloucestershire (Mitsubishi only)

English & Maths will be embedded into the training blocks or delivered during additional blocks if required (dependant on prior achievement & initial assessment results). Apprentices are required to have achieved English & Maths at GCSE A-C or 4 & above, or Functional Skills Level 2 prior to being put forward for EPA.

At the end of your training period, your employer will decide if you are ready for EPA. This is done using the evidence collected throughout your apprenticeship and discussions with the training provider. The EPA itself will consist of online tests, practical observations, and professional discussions.

Land-Based Service Engineering Technician

Our Land-Based Service Engineering Technician apprenticeship follows the level 3 Apprenticeship Standard; Land-Based Service Engineering Technician (ST0243)

The program duration is approximately 36 to 48 months and includes 24 weeks of residential block release training spread over 3 years.  This is conducted at our purpose-built training facility in Radcliffe on Trent, Nottinghamshire.  In your first year, you will complete 1, 2-week induction block, followed by an additional 3, 2-week training blocks spread throughout the year.  In your second year, you will have an additional 4, 2-week training blocks spread throughout the year with a further 4, 2-week training blocks in the third year.

English & Maths will be embedded into the training blocks or delivered during additional blocks if required (dependant on prior achievement & initial assessment results). Apprentices are required to have achieved English & Maths at GCSE A-C or 4 & above, or Functional Skills Level 2 prior to being put forward for EPA.

At the end of your training period, your employer will decide if you are ready for EPA. Autocare Technician

Our Autocare Technician apprenticeship follows the level 2 Apprenticeship Standard; Autocare Technician (ST0499).

The program duration is approximately 30 months and includes 14 weeks of residential block release training spread over 2 years.  In your first year, you will complete 1, 2-week induction block, followed by an additional 5, 1-week training blocks spread throughout the year.  In your second year, you will have a further 7, 1-week training blocks spread throughout the year.

English & Maths will be embedded into the training or delivered during additional blocks if required (dependant on prior achievement and initial assessment results). Apprentices are required to have achieved English & Maths at GCSE A-C or 4 & above, or Functional Skills Level 1 and sat the exam for Functional Skills Level 2 prior to taking the gateway 2 assessment.

Once gateway 2 is successfully completed, apprentices will then undergo End Point Assessment.  This involves a knowledge assessment, a practical observation of skills, and a professional review supported by the examination of a portfolio.

During the time on your apprenticeship program, you will automatically be granted student membership of the IMI.

Upon completion of the Apprenticeship Standard, you are eligible to become an affiliated member of the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI).  This entitles you to use the letters AffIMI after your name.

Customer Service Advisor

Our Customer Service Advisor apprenticeship follows the level 2 Apprenticeship Standard; Customer Service Practitioner (ST0072)

The program duration is approximately 15 months and includes up to 5 weeks residential block release training at one of our purpose-built training facilities as detailed below:

  • Atcham, Nr. Shrewsbury
  • Burnaston, Derbyshire (Toyota & Lexus only)
  • Radcliffe on Trent, Nottinghamshire (John Deere only)

English & Maths will be embedded into the training blocks or delivered during additional blocks if required (dependant on prior achievement & initial assessment results). The program duration is approximately 15 months and includes up to 5 weeks residential block release training at one of our purpose-built training facilities as detailed below:
